Special Needs – 211 Registry

If you have special health care needs, register by dialing 2-1-1.
You may also call Fort Bend Health and Human Services - 281-238-3233.
Residents with special health care needs, includes the disabled or medically fragile, who do not have friends or family to help when an emergency situation arises, should register for transportation in advance by dialing 2-1-1.
The 2-1-1 registry must be dialed IN ADVANCE anytime during the year before a storm is in the Gulf or any other emergency occurs. This service is for people who cannot drive themselves or make transportation arrangements.
When you dial 2-1-1, you will talk to a trained resource specialist who also has access to listings of health and human services in Texas. This includes rent and utility assistance, food, emergency shelters, where to get employment help, medical and mental health assistance, help with transportation, and trained suicide intervention counseling. You can also get information on affordable child care, information about caring for an aging relative, or help recovering from a disaster.
Information and referral is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the year. The information can be provided in over 90 different languages.
